When founder Steve, "El Jefe", moved from San Diego to Dallas, Texas in 2011 for college he had no idea how much he would miss the salsa from his favorite burrito spots. Not finding any up to his standards, he took matters into his own hands and dipped into the salsa lab. After long hours of experimenting the final product got his friends so stoked they wanted some for themselves. Word quickly spread as did demand, and Steve became known around campus as the local salsa dealer. After finishing school he returned home to Encinitas where the salsa adventure continues through various stores and markets around San Diego. With peppers from Mexico and other local Southern California ingredients, the traditional flavor is meant to be enjoyed with friends and family alike.
